Ezrin pulled the tapes from the vaults and painstakingly remixed the entire album enhancing the sound and bringing out it s rich texture and vibrancy while keeping the integrity of the original recording intact. It was the third successive kiss album to reach the top 40 in the us as well as the first to chart in germany and new zealand the album was certified gold by the riaa on april 22 1976 and platinum on november 11 of the same year the first kiss album to achieve.

Kiss had all the elements it took to create exciting and catchy rock n roll albums. And destroyer more than any other kiss album is a testament to that fact. While going through the original tapes a forgotten vocal piece that was originally edited out in the final mix of beth was discovered and now for the first time the complete original. In many ways destroyer is kiss 8217 s definitive album and there is a good case to be made for its re release. Kiss mighty destroyer 1976 is the latest to get the treatment but what fans assumed would turn into a wild treat of extras alternate takes and unreleased material turns out to be basically a re release of the album with slightly altered cover art.
